Eric Vaughn is a modern musical product of Savannah, GA, USA.
He is the Youngest inductee to the Coastal Jazz Hall of Fame (class of 2014) , receiving the award for his llfe’s
contributions to the International Jazz and Art community.
His early musical experiences , elementary , secondary and college education all occured in

who was a jazz drummer in the region for more than 35 years.

His early musical mentoring came from Teddy Adams (a musical ally of his father, who also
gave him his first professional gig at age 16).
Other influential figures include world reknown jazz bassist Ben Tucker, master pianist Joe Jones, who came to Savannah from the Virginia area, Johnny O`Neal (who performed live as Art Tatum in the movie Ray).

After moving to Atlanta in 1990, Vaughn established himself as a well sought-after drummer/
bandleader of the jazz community by creating the sound and brand “Naked Jazz”.
He helped to motivate, employ and record the areas top young lions on the jazz scene in the southeast.
This also included documenting his effort by producing a cd of original music for the Savoy
jazz label in 1996. In 1995 Eric served as artistic director for the `Atlanta Jazz Festival`.
Between the mid 1990`s and 2007 Vaughn led jazz trios aboard the Carnival cruise fleet.
There, his musical depth was fortified through experiences with not only numerous talented
musicians, but also a rich introduction to many different cultures. He performed from the
Eastern Caribbean, down to South America, around the Mexican Riviera, out to the Hawaiian
Islands and finally up to Alaska during this period of travel.
In 2008 he arrived for a visit in Berlin, Germany to further his musical adventures and search
of new perfomance platforms.
He is now a permanent fixture in Europe as he is residing part time in Berlin as of January
2010, and has begun to perform/ tour with the elite of this new community of sound.
He is currently the Resident Jazz Curater at Wekstatt der Kulturen
He has most recently re-introduced the “Naked Jazz” brand in Europe and is composing/
arranging material for a major tour of the brand and it`s music in 2014.
Currently the brand offers a variety of merchandise including shirts, caps etc., all displaying
some form of the Naked Jazz philosophy.
As a composer/ arranger Vaughn has worked on musical projects for both CNN and Walt
Disney with Jazz guitarist – Kurt Rosenwinkel.
